The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

MLB NEWS AND NOTES
Texas Rangers at Detroit Tigers MLB Betting Preview
By: Adam Markowitz

Texas Rangers at Detroit Tigers (-110, 8.5)

Division leaders lock horns on Tuesday night in the Motor City in MLB betting action, as the Detroit Tigers play host to the Texas Rangers.

The Tigers know that they have challenges coming from the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and maybe even the Minnesota Twins down the stretch this year, but coming into the month of August, they hold a 2.5-game lead in the AL Central.

Texas made some bold moves at the trade deadline, and though the Rangers are only in front of the Los Angeles Angels by two games in the AL West standings, they could be on the verge of a runaway.

Tuesday's tussle on the MLB odds gets underway at 4:05 p.m. (PT), with television coverage set for FOX Sports Detroit and FOX Sports Southwest. The pitching matchup should be a good one as Colby Lewis (10-8, 4.00 ERA) takes on Max Scherzer (11-6, 4.28 ERA).

Lewis guided the Rangers to five straight wins before his most recent start on July 27. The Minnesota Twins lit him up for four runs and eight hits in 6 2/3-innings of work at home on that day, but his bullpen didn't help matters at all in a 7-2 defeat.

Tuesday could mark the first game for Mike Adams, who was added to the Rangers' bullpen at the trade deadline for the stretch run this year. This is key for a team which had a bullpen ERA of 4.42 through July. Koji Uehara, who was picked up just a day before, has a 1.69 ERA this season, while Adams had thrown eight straight innings without a run allowed, dropping his ERA to 1.12.

Meanwhile, Scherzer has to be glad to be facing Texas, a team that he is 3-0 against in his career. The righty has a 3.48 ERA in his five outings against the Rangers.

The last four starts for the right-hander have been fantastic. He has allowed just six earned runs in his last 27 2/3-innings of work. A win on Tuesday night for Scherzer would tie a career high with 12 victories.

The Rangers come into this one sporting some amazing offensive numbers. They have 130 homers already on the campaign, third in baseball, and rank in the Top 5 in runs per game (5.03), batting average (.276), OPS (.783) and stolen bases (99). The team though, hasn't scored more than four runs in a game for five straight games after scoring 28 in two days against the Minnesota Twins at the outset of last week.

Detroit's offense has really been up and down. The team plated a dozen runs in the second game of a 4-game set against the Los Angeles Angels, only to score 11 runs in the other three games combined.

Texas has had no luck playing in the Motor City of late, going just 3-14 in the last 17 clashes. This year, these two teams have met once at both home team's venue. Detroit took two out of three in both series.

Strong thunderstorms are a possibility for Tuesday night's clash. There is only a 50 percent chance of rain, but those storms could bad. Temperatures are going to be in the low-80s by game time.

Tuesday's Streaking and Slumping Starting Pitchers

STREAKING

Ricky Romero, Toronto Blue Jays (8-9, 3.08 ERA)

Romero was nearly untouchable in his last start, giving up just four hits over 8 1/3 innings while striking out seven in a 3-0 win over Baltimore.

Romero now has a 3.05 ERA in his last three starts and has 25 strikeouts over that span. The lefty now has 15 quality starts in 21 outings this year.

Max Scherzer, Detroit Tigers (11-6, 4.28 ERA)

Scherzer took a hard-luck loss last week against the White Sox, only giving up a two-run dinger over six innings. That loss dropped him to 2-2 over his last four starts, but he hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any of those outings.

Scherzer and the Tigers are set as early -110 favorites Tuesday against Texas and the Missouri native is 3-0 lifetime against the Rangers.

SLUMPING

Chris Capuano, New York Mets (9-10, 4.51 ERA)

Capuano hasn’t been all bad lately, but needs to figure out a way to avoid big innings.

He was rotten in the first inning of his last start against the Reds before cruising along getting beat up again in the sixth inning during a 10-9 loss. Capuano was charged with six earned runs over 5 1/3 innings and has now allowed at least four runs in each of his last three trips to the hill.

Bruce Chen, Kansas City Royals (5-4, 4.29 ERA)

While we normally don’t throw guys in the Slumping section after just one poor start, we don’t see pitchers charged with 10 earned runs in an outing either.

Chen was hammered for the 10-spot over just four innings of work during a 12-5 loss to the Red Sox. He gave up three dingers and walked three.

HOT LINES

Tuesday's Best MLB Bets

Texas Rangers at Detroit Tigers (-110, 8.5)

The Texas Rangers put up enough runs to make up for a lot of their deficiencies, but offense can come and go as the standings tighten down the stretch. That’s why they made some aggressive moves to help out their bullpen before the trade deadline.

The Rangers went into Monday’s game with a 4.35 bullpen ERA – 27th in the bigs. They hope Mike Adams and Koji Uehara can help out in that area.

"You look up, and I think we're in a dogfight for the division with the Angels," general manager Jon Daniels told reporters of the deals. "They're a very good club. They've got a good pitching staff. If we're fortunate enough to get to the postseason, then that's a dogfight every night. You're going to need multiple guys to pitch at the back of the bullpen and get big outs in big spots."

Adams and Uehara will definitely help, but Texas always has a tough time in Detroit. We’ll stick with the under.

PICK: Under

Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants (-155, 6)

The Diamondbacks went into Monday’s action with an offense that produced 4.56 runs per game – good for seventh in the majors. That didn’t stop them from dipping into the minor leagues for some more offensive help.

Arizona promoted 23-year-old Paul Goldschmidt ahead of Monday’s action and even though it’s a big jump from Double-A Mobile to the show, he might provide a big spark.

Goldschmidt was hitting .306 with 30 homers, 21 RBIs and 82 walks in 103 games this season. Maybe just as importantly, he has cut his strikeouts from 27 percent of his at-bats last year at Single-A to 20 percent this season.

It remains to be seen if the kid can hit in the big leagues, but we don’t like his chances against The Freak. Lincecum finally looks to be coming around with a 0.95 ERA over his last three trips to the hill.

WNBA NEWS AND NOTES
Mercury - Ly*x Preview
By Associated Press

Phoenix Mercury at Minnesota Ly*x (-6, 187.5)

The Minnesota Ly*x took over first place in the Western Conference from the Phoenix Mercury in the last meeting. Now on the verge of the longest winning streak in franchise history, Minnesota hosts Phoenix on Tuesday night with a chance to build on its lead.

The Ly*x (13-4), owners of the WNBA's best record, beat the Mercury 106-98 on July 20 to pull one-half game ahead of Phoenix atop the conference. The lead has since stretched to two games after Sunday's 70-69 victory over second-place San Antonio, with the Mercury (11-7) in third place, 2 1/2 games back.

Lindsay Whalen's jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining against the Silver Stars helped erase a 12-point halftime deficit and gave Minnesota its sixth straight win, tying a team record set July 9-22, 2004.

Whalen finished with a season-high 23 points as the Ly*x found themselves in an unfamiliar position by trailing in the second half.

"You don't know until you've been in that spot," said 40-year-old Taj McWilliams-Franklin, who scored a season-high 15 points. "This is the first time we've been down and had to come back. The games we lost, we were up and let the other teams come back on us. It was our first real challenge on the season."

Minnesota blew an 11-point, fourth-quarter lead in its last defeat - 112-105 at home to Phoenix on July 13. Diana Taurasi scored a game-high 27 points for the Mercury.

Taurasi, the league's leading scorer at 20.2 points per game, scored 16 on Saturday to help Phoenix end a three-game losing streak with a 91-84 victory over New York.

Penny Taylor scored 29 points to lead the Mercury. Taurasi said the team didn't talk much about the recent slump before the game.

"We didn't really say anything in the locker room, we didn't act that way but I think it just happens naturally when you think you're a pretty good team and you lose three in a row," she said. "A couple of games we probably should've won if we did the right things ... so there was probably a sense of desperation underneath our confidence."

Taurasi scored 24 points and Taylor added 23 in last month's loss to Minnesota, and the Mercury couldn't overcome a game-high 25 points from Seimone Augustus.

The Ly*x have scored more than 100 points three times this season - twice against the Mercury's up-tempo style - and their 83.4 per game ranks second behind Phoenix's 91.6. Minnesota, however, puts more emphasis on the defensive end, ranking third in the league allowing an average of 74.7 points.

The Mercury are last, giving up 87.1 per game.

LADY LUCK

Tuesday's Best WNBA Bets

Phoenix Mercury at Minnesota Ly*x (-6, 187.5)

The Minnesota Ly*x and Phoenix Mercury may be battling out for top spot in the Western Conference all the way down the stretch in the regular season.

The Ly*x took the last meeting between the two clubs, dropping the Mercury 106-98 as 4.5-point underdog and now lead the Mercury by two games after coming back to sneak past the Silver Stars on a last-second bucket by Lindsay Whalen.

They were down 12 points at the break and trailing in the second half isn’t something the Ly*x are used to.

"You don't know until you've been in that spot," Taj McWilliams-Franklin told reporters. "This is the first time we've been down and had to come back. The games we lost, we were up and let the other teams come back on us. It was our first real challenge on the season.”

We see them building upon that.

PICK: Minnesota

New York Liberty at Atlanta Dream (-4.5, 164.5)

If the Atlanta Dream are going to keep making up ground after a terrible start to the season, they’re going to need a lot from Angel McCoughtry.

The Dream saw their five-game winning streak snapped by Connecticut on Sunday falling 99-92 as a 4.5-point underdog. McCoughtry did her part by pouring in 36 points, including 19 in the final frame, despite the fact that she missed the first seven minutes of the game after feeling ill.

She has now cracked the 30-point plateau three times in the last four games.

"It might be one of the damndest games I've seen since I've been in this league," Sun coach Mike Thibault said. "The Dream shot 66 percent in the second half and lost."

We see Atlanta getting back on track at home.

PICK: Atlanta

Tuesday’s Betting Tips: Price Burning Jays Bettors

Who’s Hot

MLB: The over is 13-3 in Jaime Garcia’s last 16 starts for the St. Louis Cardinals.

MLB: The Tampa Bay Rays are 9-0 in David Price’s last nine starts against the Toronto Blue Jays.

WNBA: The over is 8-1 in New York’s last nine road games.

Who’s Not

MLB: Texas was just 3-14 in its last 17 games in Detroit heading into Monday's action.

MLB: The under is 1-9 in San Diego’s last 10 home games.

WNBA: The over is 1-8-1 in San Antonio’s last 10 games overall.

Key Stat

23 – Atlanta Braves second baseman Dan Uggla extended his hitting streak to 23 games with a solo home run Monday night. Uggla, who was hitting .180 heading into July, is now batting .341 during his hitting streak with nine homers and 19 RBIs.

Injury That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

Aramis Ramirez, Chicago Cubs – Ramirez sat out Monday’s night with a quad injury and his status for Tuesday’s game is unknown. Ramirez is hitting .286 for the Cubs with 19 homers and 63 RBIs.

Game Of The Day

St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers (-130, 7.5)

Notable Quotable

“There are not a lot of guys like Osi. It’s not like you can just go and pick up one of those guys off the street, but again as of right now, he’s still under contract with the Giants and that’s hopefully how it will be for the rest of the year.” – New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck on Osi Umenyiora. The Giants have granted Umenyiroa, who tied for the team lead in sacks (11.5) and led the league in forced fumbles (10), permission to seek a trade following their contract dispute. New York’s currently set at +2000 to win Super Bowl XLVI.

Tips And Notes

Tiger Woods played his first round since May Monday at Atlanta Athletic Club, where next week's PGA Championship will be held. "I had a blast out there on a wonderful golf course," Woods said in a posting on his website. "It should be a great test for a major championship." He's currently set around +1200 for next week's tournament.

The San Antonio Silver Stars are still stinging from a 1-point loss to Minnesota, but they’ve really turned it around after a terrible month. San Antonio jumped out of the gate to a 7-1 start against the spread, but dropped five of six games against the number in July before covering in four of their last five. "This game doesn't make or break us. There's still a lot of basketball left to be played," guard Jia Perkins told reporters about the teams latest loss that still got supporters to the pay window as 3-point underdogs. "We still have the whole second half. ... We have a chance to redeem ourselves."

San Francisco Giants second baseman Freddy Garcia finally threw in the towel and will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the labrum in his right shoulder. Jeff Keppinger will continue to fill in at second base after being acquired from the Astros last month.

Hondo

You can't get bludgeoned every night. Hondo proved that last night when Kershaw and Co. stayed classy in San Diego, which resulted in the deficit tumbling to 2,075 parnells.

Tonight, Mr. Aitch will go with Huff to post a win over the Bosawx -- 20 units on the Native Americans.
